I am dedicating this site to my mother, Lucille Fry and grandmother, Ada Langford. If I ever become as good a cook as my
mother and grandmother, I will feel I made it. There was a long time when I was learning to cook and first out on
my own where I would not have been able to make a meal had I not had Mother on the other end of the phone. Some meals even
took more than one phone call... "Is it supposed to look like this?" and she would always have an answer.
My grandmother, Ada Langford, was also an early inspiration. I will never forget her apple dumplings and her peach cobbler.
The best compliment I ever got on anything I cooked was at the funeral of my Uncle Ernie when one of Aunt Ruby's childhood
friends asked "Who made the peach cobbler?" When I said that I had made it, she said "I haven't had cobbler
like that since I was a little girl and used to eat at Langfords'. It tastes just like what Mrs. Langford used to make."
That's when I knew I had it right. As time progresses, you will see more and more illustrated recipes with step-by-step
directions and photos.
